Anita Jean is strikingly beautiful — a boat that would melt the heart of any Carolina custom aficionado. Its sheer is long and sensuous with nary a straight line — pure eye candy. The exaggerated crown of the bow and the radius of the transom is uber sexy, while the extra-wide teak covering boards delineate the boundaries of a cockpit designed for action, not simply for square footage.

I first laid eyes on the new 45-footer from Winter Custom Yachts earlier this year at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. Tim Winters and his crew had just wrapped up the final touches in North Carolina in the nick of time for many of us get the first look.

Wolverine’s curved transom, flowing broken shear line accentuated by her intermediate bumper, and beautiful Carolina flare met my expectations the moment I stepped on the dock. The sight of Hull No. 22 from Winter Custom Yachts triggered the special place in my heart for custom Carolina boats. I had watched the progress of the build for the past few months and eagerly awaited stepping aboard the beautiful rig to see what Winter had done with his latest creation.

I’ve been fishing down south for the last 10 years, so I’d never seen a Winter boat before, and I’d not heard much about this builder. However, as soon as I walked up to the boat, I could tell what part of the world it came from. She has those distinct, beautiful Carolina lines that a lot of us fall in love with. I noticed immediately that this boat boasted an extremely high level of fit and fairing, with a very clean yacht finish. Even some of the big-name builders could not compare.

Every day is a new adventure in my beautiful yacht built by Tim and his team. They stood by my side and listened to every question and special request I had throughout the building process. Now that my boat is in the water, I couldn’t be happier. As an avid marlin fisherman, I have never been disappointed in the performance of my yacht. My crew and I have fished the Crystal Coast time and time again and never failed to be the talk of the yachting community. A big thank you to the folks at Winter for a truly magnificent job well done.
